What does a commercial electrician need?
1. Safety Compliance
Many businesses require that electricians have certain compliances to work at their sites. In order to have CM3 compliance, DJD Electrics must annually prove our competence in working with powered mobile plants, fall risks, general and other risks, hazardous chemicals, and, of course, electrical work. We are then issued with a certificate which proves our safety compliance. This saves businesses time and effort, and provides peace of mind that safe, fully qualified and licensed electricians will be showing up to their business.
Many schools require Sam 4 Schools compliance, which is similar to CM3 but specifically for schools. DJD Electrics also holds Sam 4 Schools compliance, making it easy for schools to employ our services.
2. Qualifications
A commercial electrician needs to have completed a four year apprenticeship. This includes completing all assignments and assessments for trade school, and on the job experience in a commercial environment. Then they must pass the Licensed Electricans Assessment (LEA) in order to receive their A Grade licence and work unsupervised.
Our commercial electricians regularly complete post qualification training courses depending on their particular passion and expertise. For example air conditioning, thermo scanning and advanced security systems.
